Sunday......Our Day of Rest?

Jana took us to mass on the University of San Diego. They have a beautiful church, The Immaculata.

After church, we toured the Founder's Chapel (across the street). We picked up donuts & coffee for breakfast, ate in Balboa park, and then off to more sightseeing....We started in Balboa Park where we boarded the Old Town Trolley Tour.

We stopped in Old Town, Coronado Ferry Landing & then Hotel del Coronado. At each of these stops, we got off the trolley and looked/shopped around.



While at Coronado Ferry Landing, we ate lunch at Village Pizzeria and tried the St. Louis Toasted Ravioli.










At Hotel del Coronado, we walked thru the hotel and shops, then walked on the beach.......brrr, the sand was cold. Once we got back to the condo, we did our Sunday duty (took a nap).

Saturday.....visiting Jeff & Debbie

We started our day at Bread & Cie (coffee, tea, muffin & apple turnover) then looked around at Column One (a concrete /garden item place), then off to Escondido, where Jeff & Debbie live. They have a beautiful home.










They gave us a tour of their home and gardens,


then they drove us to vineyard country.....Temekula.



















We did a little wine tasting at Ponte Family Estate while we waited for our table. After lunch there, we drove to South Coast Winery and had a tasting, sat in the sun, and visited......it was so relaxing.

After we said our good-byes, we drove to downtown San Diego to the Gas Lamp District and ate at George's 5th Avenue, while we listed to "Peter the Prince of Piano". After our steak & pork chop, walked to the stadium area. The building on the right was moved here, brick by brick and was owned by Wyatt Earp. (George's is on the bottom floor of this building.)
It was a super day.

No Black Friday for us!

Our Friday started at Starbuck's....had to get my java. John fixed a few items for Jana...changed out a light fixture in Jana's closet, tightened the kitchen sink faucet, changed out a socket in the dining room light, and a few other small items. We met Jana's friends, Jerry & Jerry and got the tour of their apartment.











We ate lunch at the Crest Cafe and then drove to La Jolla where we saw the seals and walked around downtown.
















We toured the memorial at Mount Solidad cross,
went to Pacific & Mission beaches, walked to Chrystal pier, talked to a beachcomber looking for jewelry, and had drinks & an appetizer at Firehouse. Jana & I dropped John off at the condo & we went back to Mission Beach to do a little shopping.....Had a wonderful day.

In San Diego

John & I traveled to San Diego for Thanksgiving. We're visiting Jana and we're having a ball.


Thursday evening we went to Tuna Harbor, saw a tribute to Bob Hope (who entertained the soldiers during the war), drove to Coronado, saw the Hotel Del Coronado, saw the lighting of Mister A's and then ate at the Boat House restaurant.






8 years ago, Jana remodeled her condo. WOW...what a change.....and so beautiful.

Her home is so nice and she has a pretty view....one side is Balboa park and the other side is the ocean.

Visiting in Victoria

This past weekend we went to Victoria to visit Sara, Travis & Elizabeth. It's been a few weeks since we've seen Elizabeth.....and man....has she grown. Saturday evening we all went to the mall to do a little shopping....yes, even the guys went. Nana just had to buy Elizabeth a Christmas outfit (and Grandpa didn't even say a word!) After shopping, we went to Texas Roadhouse....a steak always hits the spot when you have a the guys with you. On Sunday, we went to 7:30am mass, and then Sara cooked us a wonderful lunch......Roast, potatoes, carrots, gravy, homegrown peas and rolls. Our afternoon was spent playing with Elizabeth.....and a little napping. Thank you Sara, Travis & Elizabeth for a memorable time.
